The Nomac Built team has hit a major milestone on the Bruny Island project in April 2026 - foundations are in, the burnished concrete living room slab is poured, and the build is moving into its next phase.

In April 2026, the Bruny Island project has reached its first major milestone, with all foundations now complete and a burnished concrete slab poured for what will become the living room.

It's one of those stages that marks the real beginning of a build - from here, everything starts to rise out of the ground.

Working on Bruny Island brings its own logistical challenges, and this day was no exception. The whole Nomac Built team was up early and on the 6 o'clock ferry to make sure everything was in place ahead of the concrete pour.

The boom truck arrived shortly after and the pour went smoothly. By the end of the day, the slab was down and finished - a solid result from the combined team effort.

Larger builds like this one are a big part of what Nomac Built is about. Projects on this scale bring the whole team together and give Tom, Zak and the crew the opportunity to apply their craft across a full custom home build - from early groundwork right through to final finishes.

There's a real satisfaction in watching a project of this size take shape, especially on a location as unique as Bruny Island.

Over the next couple of weeks, the focus shifts to floor systems, wall framing, and completing it all with the roof frame installation - the stage where a build really starts to take shape on site.
