Contact usLayout changes, cabinetry, benchtops, splashbacks and the services behind them (plumbing and electrical) are all scoped as one project. If you're moving the sink, stove or fridge position, that gets planned early since it affects plumbing and electrical runs before cabinetry goes in.
A kitchen renovation is one of the easiest jobs to stall if trades aren't sequenced properly, cabinetry going in before rough-in plumbing is finished, for example. We coordinate our licensed trades directly so each stage happens in the right order, without you having to manage the handoffs yourself.
Project Timbertop opened up the kitchen into a large, functional entertaining space, with a custom Tasmanian Oak benchtop upstairs and a bar and adults' retreat downstairs, alongside a garage renovation in the same job.
A kitchen renovation touches more trades than almost any other room, which is exactly where a job stalls if nobody's genuinely in charge of sequencing. Zak and Tom coordinate every trade personally on a Kitchen Renovation Hobart job, so plumbing, electrical and cabinetry land in the right order without you chasing anyone to find out why.
Do I need to move out during a kitchen renovation?
Not always, though you'll be without a working kitchen for at least part of the job. We plan the sequencing to minimise how long that stretch runs and talk you through what to expect before work starts.
Can you keep some of my existing cabinetry to save on cost?
Sometimes, if it's in good condition and suits the new layout. It's worth raising early, since mixing old and new cabinetry works better with some layouts than others.
Do you handle moving the plumbing if I want to change the layout?
Yes, relocating plumbing for a sink, dishwasher or fridge point is part of the scope where the layout calls for it, planned in from the start rather than as a late addition.
How long does a kitchen renovation usually take?
It depends on the extent of the layout change and whether services are being relocated, from a couple of weeks for a straightforward swap-out to longer where plumbing and electrical are moving. We'll give you a realistic timeline once we've scoped the job.
Will the rest of the house be affected while the kitchen's being renovated?
Generally we can contain the disruption to the kitchen and immediate surroundings, though this depends on the layout and whether structural changes are involved. We'll flag anything that spills into other rooms early.
