About the project

The Lollara Road Project represents a thoughtful and highly detailed transformation of the master bedroom and Butler’s pantry, seamlessly blending modern functionality with a charming farmhouse aesthetic.

As Hobart builders, the Nomac Built team collaborated closely with homeowner Anne and architect Andy Armstrong to create a home that not only meets her needs but also tells a story through its unique features.

The project began with an awkward layout, where the master bedroom was accessed through a small mudroom and wardrobe space. Nomac Built reimagined this portion of the home by converting the existing walk-in robe into one generous Butler’s pantry and laundry, while reconfiguring the entry sequence to the master bedroom. This redesign created a true parents’ retreat wing, incorporating the home office, master bedroom, and new ensuite - all connected via a grand hallway featuring an elegant arched entry that sets the tone for the spaces beyond.

A key achievement of the renovation was the conversion of an underutilised area of the home - an old deck - into a fully functional and beautifully appointed ensuite bathroom.

It's this reconfiguration that's significantly improved the home’s layout, adding both value and everyday usability.

One of the standout elements of the renovation is the custom penny round tiling in the ensuite, complemented by a distinctive feature border that adds character and depth. Comfort was also a priority, with underfloor tile heating installed to elevate everyday living and introduce a subtle sense of luxury.

A bespoke arched entry to the master bedroom creates a grand sense of arrival and frames the space with softness and architectural interest. The incorporation of a fully reclaimed window from a historic pub in Sydney serves as a striking focal point and a meaningful nod to the home’s heritage.

Vertical VJ lining to the walls and ceiling enhances the farmhouse feel, beautifully accentuating the 1930s cast iron fan that was thoughtfully integrated into the design.

Anne expressed her delight, stating, “I've had a wonderful experience with Zak, Tom and the Nomac team... who have changed our living spaces into something really beautiful.”

"I've got nothing but praise for Nomac Built... a really quality company that delivers."
